Watchdog demands Instagram erase picture offending Russian flag

MOSCOW, Jul 16 (PRIME) -- The Russian communications service has asked social network Instagram to delete a picture offending the country’s state symbols, the watchdog said on Tuesday in a statement.

“On July 16, the communications service received a request from the Prosecutor General’s Office to restrict access to an illustration in social network Instagram dishonoring the state symbols of Russia. The picture contains an image of indecent acts with the state flag of the Russian Federation,” the authority said.

Instagram was notified of adding the webpage to the single register of banned information.
